Most printed boards are a vinyl sheet applied on top of the wood. It looks right on day one. After a season outside, the corners lift and the seam catches the bag.
UV printing puts the ink into the wood surface, then seals it under clear coat. There's no layer to peel and no edge for water to get under. What the bag touches is the same clear coat across the whole board, printed or not, so the slide doesn't change.
Every board is regulation 24" by 48", printed into the wood and sealed under the same UV clear coat. What changes is the top and the weight: a 1/2" top at 15 pounds, or an 18mm top at 28.

Both builds sit finished in our warehouse, waiting. What's made to order is the print and the clear coat, and that takes a day.
So a custom board for Saturday can be ordered on Thursday. A brewery that needs a branded set before a tournament weekend gets one. Most shops quote two to six weeks because they start from plywood after you pay.

A note on color: printed ink sits in the wood grain rather than on a plastic film, so it reads a little softer than it does on a screen. Screens vary too. Picking up in North Kansas City? Look the boards over before you take them.
You don't need artwork. Describe the idea — a hometown, a mascot, an inside joke, a photo of the lake — and we'll draw it and send you a proof. If you do have a logo or a file, even better.

We keep finished regulation boards in stock. What happens after you order is the printing and the clear coat, and that's a day. You're not waiting six weeks for someone to cut plywood, because that part is already done.
Close, but a little softer. Your monitor emits light, so it shows colors no ink can reproduce — the neon and glow tones especially. And printing into wood mutes color by nature: the ink sits in the grain, and the grain isn't white. That's the same reason the print can't peel off. A vinyl wrap can look screen-bright because it's a plastic film sitting on top of the board, and that film is what lifts at the corners after a season outside.
Our gallery images are toned to match what actually comes off the printer, so what you see is close to what you take home. No two screens agree anyway. If you're picking up in North Kansas City, you're welcome to look your boards over before you take them, and if something isn't right we'll sort it out then.

Backyard, unless someone in the house plays seriously. Both are regulation size with the same artwork and the same finish. Going up buys you a thicker top, a second support brace and thirteen more pounds per board. That matters at league night and it's largely invisible at a cookout — and if you move your boards often, the lighter set is genuinely the better one to own.
The gap is about sixty dollars, and for that you get to choose the design instead of taking whatever was in stock. Bounce comes from the top flexing under the bag and pushing it back. Both builds are braced against it. The backyard board holds its 1/2" top with one center brace, which handles normal play fine. The tournament board puts two braces under an 18mm top, so there's far less span to flex and the response stays the same wherever the bag lands. That consistency is what you're paying for if you throw competitively.
Wear happens on the clear coat, not the image. Left out uncovered year-round it'll gray and dull like any finished wood. Stored in a garage or covered between games, it holds.
Both builds are regulation size: 24" by 48", 6" hole, 9" from the top. Where they differ is the top and the weight, not the dimensions. If you play in a league, the tournament build is the one you want for its 18mm surface and double bracing.

Wipe it down with a damp cloth and let it dry. Skip harsh cleaners and solvents, which can dull the clear coat. The finish handles outdoor play fine, but storing the boards in a garage or under a cover between games is what keeps them looking new for years.
